WASHINGTON, D.C. – For 2013, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) was ranked the most conservative member of the North Carolina congressional delegation by leading grassroots conservative organization FreedomWorks. Congressman Jones earned a near-perfect score on 21 key votes in 2013 that FreedomWorks identified as displaying a commitment to “fighting for lower taxes, less government and more freedom.”
“Defending America’s principles of freedom is my greatest privilege and responsibility as a member of the House of Representatives,” said Congressman Jones. “Moving into 2014, I will continue to oppose unconstitutional government overreach and infringement on our liberties.”
FreedomWorks recognized Congressman Jones for his votes to stop raising the debt limit, to cut wasteful government spending, to repeal and defund Obamacare, and to prevent the federal government from spying on U.S. citizens without a warrant, among other things.
