FEMA and Natural Disasters

fema.jpgThe issue of FEMA and Natural Disasters is important to our district and to my work in Congress.

The coast of North Carolina has been affected by numerous hurricanes and other natural disasters.  I am  deeply committed to working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to ensure that the citizens of Eastern North Carolina have the adequate resources should a natural disaster damage our coast.

• Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is still here. Applicants with questions, updates or issues should call the FEMA help line at 800-621-3362, for voice, 711 and Video Relay Service. If you are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY call 800-462-7585.
• Temporary Sheltering Assistance (TSA) lodging has been extended for eligible survivors currently occupied in TSA until April 28, 2017, with a checkout date of April 29, 2017.
• Survivors in North Carolina looking for rental housing may use  asd.fema.gov/inter/hportal/home.htm or nchousingsearch.org/ to help find rental resources.
